Dr Nelson is the Clinical Director of Cranmore and was the first dentist in Northern Ireland to obtain a Masters Degree in Dental Implantology. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of dental implants including placement, restoration and bone grafting procedures. He regularly accepts referrals from other dentists in relation to dental implant treatment.

Committed to continuing education, David was previously a Tutor on the Masters Degree Course in Implant Dentistry at the University of Central Lancashire. He is also a Tutor at the School of Dentistry, Queen’s University Belfast, where he delivers lectures in relation to dental implants to undergraduates. More recently Cranmore has been approved as the Irish Training Facility for the University of Central Lancashire, Institute of Postgraduate Dental Education, Masters Degree in Implant Dentistry, with David as Lead Clinical Supervisor.

David is the Northern Ireland Facilitator for the British Society of Oral Implantology and a Mentor and Study Club Facilitator for the International Team for Implantology. He has also established the Cranmore Academy which delivers a series of clinical and non-clinical CPD accredited study clubs for dentists.

Dr. Nelson is a Consulting Member of the British Society of Oral Implantology, Member and Mentor for the International Team for Implantology, Member of the Association of Dental Implantology, Member of The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Member of The Society for The Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry and Member of The British Dental Association.

Dr. Peter Wöhrle

Dr. Peter Wöhrle received his DMD degree cum laude and Master of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (1988). Additionally, he has completed advanced education programs in prosthodontics and implant dentistry at Harvard, and a four-year certified dental technician program in Switzerland. While at Harvard, he worked with his mentor, Dr. Paul Schnitman, on the groundbreaking concept of immediate loading with Brånemark implants. Once in private practice, Dr. Wöhrle applied these principles to the concept of immediate tooth replacement in the esthetic zone. More recently, Dr. Wöhrle developed the NobelPerfect scalloped margin implant system. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the European Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the American College of Prosthodontists. He is renowned as the only dentist with formal training in the interrelated fields of implants surgery, prosthodontics, and laboratory technology.

Planmeca ProMax 3D ProFace is a Cone Beam Volumetric Tomography (CBVT) imaging device with a unique combination of 3D images: it produces a realistic 3D face photo in addition to traditional maxillofacial 2D and 3D radiography.

The 3D face photo is a result of totally radiation-free process: Lasers scan the facial geometry, and digital cameras capture the colour texture of the face. Planmeca Romexis software then combines the information into a 3D photo which can be analysed as a separate image or as part of a CBVT image. When combined with the patient’s CBVT image, the 3D photo is a valuable asset for operation preplanning and treatment follow-up.
